The most critical part of our pharmacy service is providing accurate and reliable delivery of medications. With dedicated pharmacists and drivers on staff, Classic Care Pharmacy has been able to maintain a 99.8% accuracy rate, while providing a daily delivery of medication to each of our homes.
Medications can be ordered by phone, fax or through Classic Care's Class-eConnect, Class-ePen, or Class-eScribe. (Link to each on the technology page). Medication reordering can also be done electronically through these systems.
In order to maintain our high accuracy rate, we have implemented multiple checks to each prescription prior to dispensing. Through Class-eConnect and Class-eScribe medications can be tracked electronically and homes are notified that they are en route.
Emergency Orders
Classic Care Pharmacy guarantees that no resident is ever left without their
medication. In addition to our regular delivery, we have back up delivery systems
in place to ensure this.
Emergency Medication Stock Box - Classic Care Pharmacy will provide each home with an Emergency Medication Stock Box, giving immediate access to emergency medications. Each box is stocked according to each homes specific critical medication needs.
Drivers on staff – Throughout the day, Classic Care Pharmacy's drivers are available to provide timely delivery of emergency medication orders.
Satellite Pharmacy - Classic Care Pharmacy works with a pharmacy in every locale serviced to ensure timely emergency delivery of medications, after hours or on holidays. Classic Care Pharmacy provides each home with a pre-printed order form that is faxed directly to the satellite pharmacy. The pharmacy then delivers orders immediately, while Classic Care takes care of all billing and extra expenses. Classic Care Pharmacy ensures that our satellite pharmacies understand the importance of timely and reliable to Long Term Care Homes, Retirement Residences and Group Homes.
24/7 On-Call Pharmacist - Classic Care Pharmacy has a pharmacist on-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and 365 days per year, for emergency medication orders, and medication questions and support.
Back up Systems - To ensure that medications will be available to your residents at all times, Classic Care Pharmacy has the necessary systems in place to avoid service interruption. We currently operate 9 Automed packaging machines, and maintain an onsite inventory of medications and specialty items.
We have a complete backup fax system and secure backup of all resident data. In the event of a power outage, we have a generator capable of supplying power throughout the pharmacy.
